{a bevy of basil}

Daily harvest.

While we wait impatiently for tomatoes, peppers and more, our garden has been keeping us in basil for weeks.  Favorite of herbs at this house, it's topped pasta, filled feta omelets, and infused lemonade and strawberry water.  Most recently, M and I added basil to a favorite homemade pizza recipe, then had ourselves a little picnic with some candlelight and blues...

Favorite basil recipes, anyone?

  3. Pesto freezes really well, as I'm sure you already know. There's nothing quite like having summery-tasting pesto pasta in January.

  4. I love pesto and use it often, but I've actually never made it. Do you have a go-to recipe? :)

  5. Basil Tea - just leaves in a cup of freshly boiled water. Basil sedative, diuretic and antiseptic properties. Great for upset tummies and ulcers.

    Just found your blog, love it :)

  6. Kylie, basil tea sounds wonderful! I love rosemary tea (with a slice of ginger and a clove), so I'll be sure to give it a try.

    I've been perusing your blog, and I see we make our vanilla the same way. I uncorked a batch a couple weeks ago for a French toast recipe... store-bought is really no comparison!

    Welcome! :)
